GoFind doesn't seem to work when I'm inside. Why?

The functionality of GoFind relies on being able to obtain your GPS coordinates. It's not IMPOSSIBLE to get coordinates while you're inside, but it can definitely take a long time. It might also try and try to obtain coordinates without ever getting them. This app is really designed to help you find someone in an outdoor space - like a college campus, or a park, or an outdoor concert. If you need to find someone in your office or in your house... you might want to entertain some other options, like yelling.

I have GoFind, but my friend doesn't. Do they need to have GoFind in order for the application to work?

Yes, both users must have GoFind We removed an option to manually enter coordinates because there were multiple bugs related to it.

What if the Target moves while I am trying to GoFind! them?

The target should really try to stay as close to their original position as possible. When you send a GoFind request to the Target and they accept it, the coordinates of where they are the moment they hit accept is what you as the Finder are being led towards. There is also a reminder on the Target's screen that says "Please stand still so your friend can find you." As long as your Target stays where they are, you should be good to go. If they move a significant distance, you'll need to submit a new GoFind request and remind your friend to follow directions.

Does my GPS need to be on in order to use GoFind!?

Yes, the GPS must be turned on on both devices (the Finder's and the Target's). You can either turn this on beforehand or turn it on when the application prompts you. To turn your GPS on outside of GoFind go to Menu --> Settings --> Security & Location. On that screen you can check "Enable GPS Satellites." This may vary from phone to phone. If you try to send a GoFind request and you don't have your GPS turned on, the application will detect that and will redirect you to the Security & Locations screen. Once you check "Enable GPS Satellites," just click back and you will be on the home screen of GoFind again. The ability to turn GPS on from within the app does not work on the HTC Hero or the Droid Eris - on those devices you will be redirected to the wrong Settings screen. If you have one of these phones, just turn your GPS on before starting up GoFind!

Will the blue pin on the Target screen move as my friend gets closer to me?

No. On the Target screen, you can see the direction from which your friend started and also their starting distance. This is where they were when you accepted their GoFind! request. But the distance and direction will not be updated while you are waiting for your friend to GoFind! you.
